Book launch - A New Way Forward for Schools
What if the way we’ve always done school… isn’t the way forward anymore?
I’m not a teacher, and I don’t work in education. But as a mum of two teens (and someone who talks to a lot of other parents), I’ve often asked myself: Are our kids really learning what matters most in this AI digital age?
The pressure to keep up with academic results is real for students, parents, and even teachers. But maybe the bigger question is…
Do our old beliefs about high score performance still serve the next generation?
Or are they creating more stress, more disconnection, and more confusion between adults and young people, between teachers and students, even between leaders and teams?
Should we offer more space for them to explore in their own way?
Well-being isn’t just a nice extra, it’s the foundation for real learning, growth, and connection.
Thanks to lovely Bronwyn Williams for bringing me along to Dr William DeJean 's inspiring book launch: “A New Way Forward for Schools.”
It gave me another great time and the space to learn from other professionals deeply exploring this topic; especially after hearing from incredible people like Dr. Suzy Green (my favourite mentor), Amy Easton, Freeman Fung and of course Bronwyn herself.
It’s already 8pm and I still feel energised from the conversations. That says a lot.
Let’s keep exploring how we can support both sides not just push for results, but create spaces where everyone (young and old) can grow with joy, meaning, and curiosity
.
Can’t wait to read this new book – A New Way Forward for Schools!

Valid question if an old school still works which might just understand that internet came into our lives but not what‘s ahead of us.
